This project turns scattered mileage readings into a VIN-level odometer intelligence timeline, then flags rollbacks, unusual jumps, source conflicts, and insufficient-data cases before risky vehicles reach buyers.

Product rule: never show an empty state when there is uncertainty. Knowns, unknowns, and caution guidance are better than a blank result.

Flag states

Every VIN resolves to one of five states. The system never returns a silent pass — it surfaces confidence level even when data is thin.

Rollback

Later reading lower than earlier. Recommend physical verification.

Unusual Jump

>50,000 km in under 12 months.

Consistent

All readings increase logically. No flags.

Insufficient Data

Fewer than 2 data points — cannot assess.

Source Conflict

Same period, major mismatch between sources.
